The University of Karachi has officially announced its Postgraduate Admissions for the year 2026. Applications are now invited for a wide range of degree programs, including MPhil, ME, MS, LLM, PhD, MS (Surgery), MD (Medicine), and MDS (Master of Dental Surgery).

The University of Karachi caters to approximately 50,000 students across 56 teaching departments and 21 research centers/institutes. Admissions are open across multiple faculties, including:

Eligibility Criteria

For MS (Surgery), MD (Medicine) & MDS (Master of Dental Surgery):

• MBBS / BDS or equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
• Completion of a one-year house job.
• Valid PMDC Registration.

For MPhil, ME & MS (With Course Work):

• At least sixteen years of studies (e.g., MA, MSc, MBA, MBBS, BDS, B-Pharm, Pharm-D, BS/BE Engineering) or equivalent qualification with at least second division in the relevant field from an HEC-recognized University/Institution.
• Note: Candidates with MBBS, BDS, DVM, or equivalent qualifications will be required to complete deficiency courses prescribed by the concerned department.

For PhD:

• MPharm, MPhil, MBA (with 4-year BBA), or equivalent qualification in the relevant field from an HEC-recognized university.

For LLM:

• At least sixteen years of studies (BA.LLB/LLB) or equivalent qualification with at least ‘Second Division’ in LLB, having at least a 55% aggregate or a minimum CGPA of 3.00.

Application Procedure

1. Download Materials: The Postgraduate Admission Prospectus 2026, Entrance Test Form, and Fee Voucher can be downloaded from the University of Karachi Admissions Portal between June 29 and July 08, 2026.
2. Fill and Pay: Carefully read the prospectus, fill out the Entrance Test Form, and generate the Fee Voucher.
3. Submit Documents: Submit the duly filled Entrance Test Form, all required academic documents, and the paid (non-refundable) Fee Voucher to the respective departments by the latest deadline of July 08, 2026.
4. Collect Admit Card: Eligible candidates must collect their Admit Cards from their respective Departments/Centers/Institutes between July 23 and July 24, 2026.

Entrance Test Details

The Karachi University Entrance Test (KUET)-2026 is mandatory for all applicants.

• Date: Sunday, July 26, 2026
• Reporting Time: 9:30 a.m. at the respective Departments/Centers/Institutes.
• Requirements: Candidates must bring their Admit Card and Original CNIC to be permitted into the examination hall.

Note for Private/Foreign Degree Holders: Degree holders from HEC-recognized Pakistani Private/Foreign institutions MUST submit an Equivalence Certificate obtained from the Office of the Deputy Registrar (Academics) of the University of Karachi before provisional admission.
