The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) has officially released the schedule and guidelines for the August 2026 Intermediate Module Examination. With the CPSP headquarters located right here in Karachi at 7th Central Street, D.H.A. Phase II, local candidates should pay close attention to the following deadlines and procedural updates to ensure a smooth application process.
Examination Schedule & Formats
The examination format is divided into computer-based and conventional exams, depending on the subject matter:
- Computer-Based Examinations: These exams will commence on August 04, 2026.
- Subjects under this format include Anaesthesiology, Diagnostic Radiology, Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Chemical Pathology, Obstetrics & Gynae, Ophthalmology, Neurosurgery, Otorhinolaryngology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Paediatrics, Periodontology, Ortho, Surgery, Prosthodontics, Psychiatry, and Radiation Oncology.
- Candidates will sit for Paper-I and Paper-II, with each paper having a duration of 2 hours.
- This examination may spread over several days.
- Conventional Examinations: Subjects assessed via this format include Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Orthodontics, Community Medicine, Pathology, Nuclear Medicine, Family Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Physician Med & Rehab, and Operative Dentistry & Endodontics.
- The conventional format consists of a Paper-I (SAQ) lasting 03 hours and a Paper-II (MCQ) lasting 02 hours.
Application Deadlines
Candidates must complete Step-1 and Step-2 of their online application on or before the specified dates. Separate application forms are required for fresh applicants and repeaters, both of which are available on the CPSP website (www.cpsp.edu.pk).
For Fresh Candidates:
- Applications with the standard fee are due by April 10, 2026.
- Applications with a late fee of Rs. 2000/= are accepted up to April 17, 2026.
- Applications with an additional late fee of Rs. 1000/= are accepted up to April 24, 2026.
- The final date for withdrawal or a change of centre (requiring a non-refundable Rs. 1500/= fee) is April 24, 2026.
For Repeater Candidates (Theory & Clinical):
- Applications with the standard fee are due by June 02, 2026.
- Applications with a late fee of Rs. 2000/= are accepted up to June 09, 2026.
- Applications with an additional late fee of Rs. 1000/= are accepted up to June 16, 2026.
- The final date for withdrawal or a change of centre is June 16, 2026.
Fee Payment Guidelines
- The total fee is 15,050, which includes a Rs. 15,000 examination fee and Rs. 50 in handling charges.
- Payments can be made at MEEZAN BANK branches throughout Pakistan or through online payment using a Debit/Credit Card.
- Bank drafts and pay orders will not be accepted.
Training & Workshop Requirements
- Candidates are required to have completed two years of training prior to the examination date.
- The training certificate must bear the signatures of the Supervisor and Head of Department, and be countersigned by the Head of the Institute.
- All mandatory workshops must be completed one month before appearing for the examination.
- Any workshops attended after this due date will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Venues and TOACS Details
- Examinations are conducted at various centres, including CPSP Karachi, Regional Centre Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Hyderabad, Larkhana, Quetta, Peshawar, Bahawalpur, and Abbottabad.
- The CPSP maintains the right to delete a particular centre or shift candidates due to logistic reasons.
- Candidates who successfully pass the theory examination are eligible to appear in three out of four consecutive TOACS examinations without needing to retake the theory exam.
- However, if a candidate does not appear in the immediate TOACS examination following their theory pass, they will lose one chance.
- The exact venue for the TOACS examination will be determined and communicated following the assessment of the theory examination papers.
